Bryan Adelman
About

I'm a Pre-Sales Solutions Architect with over 20 years in data center technologies, hybrid cloud, and enterprise IT infrastructure. Currently at Veeam, I specialize in Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 and Entra ID across AMER East.

Day-to-day that means running demos, guiding technical evaluations, designing cloud-native backup architectures, and helping account teams build confidence with enterprise stakeholders. I've worked with organizations across financial services, healthcare, retail, and public sector.

Earlier in my career I led global IT operations, ran pre-sales architecture at CDW and AWS, and taught graduate-level coursework at RIT. The throughline is always the same: translate complex technical problems into decisions people can act on.

What I Do

Three things, done well.

01

Technical Evaluations

Lead end-to-end proof of concept engagements. Design architecture, validate fit, and build stakeholder confidence — from initial discovery through technical sign-off.

02

Cloud & M365 Architecture

Design cloud-native backup and recovery architectures for Microsoft 365 environments. Integrate with existing enterprise compliance frameworks and hybrid cloud ecosystems.

03

Enablement & Content

Build reusable technical assets — architecture diagrams, integration patterns, security guidance, and policy templates — that scale solution delivery across large accounts.

Experience

Career timeline.

Pre-sales architecture across SaaS, cloud, storage, and data center infrastructure — spanning VAR, vendor, and operator environments.

May 2024 — Present
Veeam Software

VDC M365 Pre-Sales Engineer

Enterprise pre-sales engineer supporting Veeam Data Cloud, a SaaS platform for Microsoft 365 data protection focused on enterprise-scale adoption and platform integration. Serve as the primary technical advisor for enterprise customers evaluating the platform, guiding strategic adoption and solution alignment within their cloud ecosystems.

Design and validate cloud-native backup and recovery architectures for M365 environments, integrating with existing enterprise IT and compliance frameworks. Collaborate with sales and customer success teams to translate business requirements into scalable, secure solutions — accelerating time-to-value and increasing win rates.

Deliver customized product demonstrations and hands-on PoC implementations to validate technical fit, reduce friction, and build stakeholder confidence. Create reusable technical assets — architecture diagrams, integration patterns, security guidance, and policy templates — to support consistent solution delivery across large accounts. Function as a customer advocate to product and engineering teams, identifying platform gaps and influencing roadmap decisions.

Nov 2021 — Jan 2024
CDW

Azure Pre-Sales Solutions Architect

Designed and implemented hybrid cloud architectures leveraging the benefits of both on-premises private cloud and external public cloud services. Ensured cloud infrastructure remained secure, scalable, and cost-effective across complex enterprise environments.

Developed and implemented cloud governance frameworks to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Conducted financial analysis to determine total cost of ownership (TCO) for cloud-based solutions, providing customers with the economic justification needed to accelerate adoption decisions.

Oct 2020 — Nov 2021
SHI

Strategic Solutions Pre-Sales Engineer

Datacenter technology generalist working with commercial mid-market and enterprise accounts. Led technical deep-dive engagements centered on hybrid cloud technologies, automation and orchestration, business continuity and disaster recovery, and cloud-native workload mobility.

Led technical conversations surrounding private cloud technologies — server, storage, and networking — as well as public cloud IaaS and SaaS transformation initiatives. Authored professional services statements of work and associated project plans for complex multi-phase deployments.

Mar 2020 — Oct 2020
Amazon Web Services

Senior Partner Solutions Architect

Provided the architectural guidance and recommendations necessary to promote successful partner engagements worldwide. Assisted solution providers with the definition of technical strategies that enabled them to sell more of their offerings on the AWS platform.

Captured and shared best-practice knowledge with the broader solutions architect community. Assisted partners with customer-focused technical labs and AWS online training events, helping partners build competency and deepen technical credibility with enterprise buyers.

Aug 2011 — Mar 2020
CDW

Principal Field Solutions Architect — Data Center

Served as a technical consultant and architect for organizations looking to leverage private and public cloud technologies, with emphasis on current environment assessment, roadmap planning sessions (technical reviews, ROI analysis, risk mitigation, process modification, and education), and solution architecture and integration.

Architected, planned, designed, and executed hybrid cloud projects and programs across a broad technology stack: data storage infrastructure (NAS, SAN block and object), hyper-converged infrastructure, public cloud hybrid solutions (IaaS, SaaS, DR and BC), automation and orchestration platforms, and containerized services including Docker, AKS, EKS, and local Kubernetes implementations.

Maintained deep expertise across products, market conditions, and competitive landscape. Conducted in-person and online presentations and demos for existing and prospective customers. Authored professional services statements of work and associated project plans for complex enterprise engagements across nearly nine years.

Nukote International

Director of Information Technology

Department head of IT operations supporting a custom-developed PaaS cellular telecom ERP billing system. Developed the CMDB (Configuration Management Database) for integration into the production ITIL v3 incident management system.

Designed and deployed team collaboration tooling for software development and commercial support organizations leveraging Microsoft SharePoint and Webex technology stacks. Drove server consolidation through introduction of VMware virtualization — supporting high-availability, centralized scalable SAN and NAS, consolidated backup, dynamic resource allocation, image lifecycle maintenance, and dynamic site recovery.

Introduced data center analysis and alarm management systems to automate incident workflows, collect and trend capacity growth requirements, and build KPI dashboards for senior management.

Dec 2007 — Jun 2009
Nukote International

Senior Director of Information Technology

Led global IT operations for a multinational office products manufacturer, overseeing infrastructure across six U.S. sites and international locations in the UK, China, and Mexico.

How I Built a Second Brain with AI: Why AI Amplifies Expertise Rather Than Replacing It

After a year of working with AI every day, the biggest benefit isn't automation — it's memory. Specifically, the ability to build a system that captures knowledge, connects ideas, and helps apply expertise more effectively than working alone. This article unpacks the Human-in-the-Loop Cycle and how an Obsidian-based knowledge repository changes what's possible with AI tools like Claude and Codex.
